Policies of JOLT-India

JOLT-India, Blind Peer Review Policy

JOLT-I follows a ‘Blind Peer Review Policy’. Editors evaluate submitted manuscripts exclusively on the basis of academic merit (importance, originality, study’s validity, clarity), without regard to the authors’ religious belief, political philosophy or institutional affiliation.

Publication decisions by the journal rest primarily on the comments and feedback received from the reviewer/s, plagiarism check, its importance to researchers and readers and contemporary relevance.

JOLT-India, Ethics Policy

As per the revised ethics policy of the Journal (effective 2022 onwards), formulated in light of the suggestions given by the Advisory Board members,
  • Withdrawal of manuscript after 2 months (60 days) of submission is not to be encouraged.
  • Withdrawal of manuscript during/after peer review in order to publish in another journal or other reasons would result in black-listing of the author for one year.
  • The contributors seeking a letter of acceptance of the manuscript would not be accommodated  before the December month of any publication cycle.
  • If the manuscript is confirmed to be a 'stolen' submission, the author would be blacklisted for a term decided by the Advisory Board.
The other standard clauses of JOLT-India Ethics policy are as follows:

# The journal follows an ‘Ethics Policy’ and Board members, as well as editors are expected not use unpublished information of the manuscript/s for their own research purposes without the authors’ explicit written consent.

# Editors or Board Members are never involved in any editorial decision about their own work and if there are papers, it shall be referred for consideration to a select body of senior faculty members, consisting of at least 3 neutral professors, depending upon availability. Their decision on the same shall be final and binding on the Editorial Board.

# The submissions received undergo a standard plagiarism check and the papers not following the accepted originality standard are summarily rejected.

# Authors are expected to incorporate required references and keep all the sources of material in order to avoid being suspected of plagiarism. Authors are also expected to ensure that there is no breach of copyright, work is not under consideration elsewhere for publication as well as work has not been published earlier.
